Review - Need an excellent Japanese restaurant that excels at sushi? Then this place is the one you need to try. Amazing rolls, definitely order their special rolls - Firehouse, Lady in Red - are some of my favorites. I love their waitress Catalina, she serves in their downtown location, tho, the one on first st. I have never been to their fourteenth st. location, it's just honestly too far for me since I live on fifth. But their rolls and sushi pieces are always so fresh, the really do give you big pieces, SIZE MATTERS is right. I bought their uniform for ten bucks the other day - GO SUSHI HOUSE OF HOB!!

Review - This is without a doubt the best sushi place in hoboken (the one on first is slightly better than the one uptown). The sushi is always very fresh and rivals most places in Manhattan. There is a wide selection of speciality rolls as well as old favorites (Lady in Red is Great!). The one on 1st is BYOB which is always good. The interior is fun and funky, but not too over the top. It is a great place for a date or just for a group of friends to meet up at.

Review - By far the best sushi in Hoboken. Matches up well with better Manhattan sushi destinations, such as Blue Ribbon, etc.

Lady in Red is their best roll ... a must try. The atmosphere is fun and festive, and the service is great. The owner/chef is a wonderfully friendly host who always gives he VIP treatment.

BYOB, so stop at a liquor store along the way for some wine. There is a decent small one around the corner on Newark and Park.

Review - Sushi House is by far the best sushi I have ever had. I order from there at least once a week and am never dissapointed. Try the mammamia roll- spicy tuna and tempura flakes topped with avocado, or the madame butterfly roll- eel and avocado topped with shrimp tempura...they are both amazing!

Review - This is our favorite sushi place in Hoboken and out. The service is friendly and warm. The food had never been less than excellent. After finding this restaurant we decided not to venture to any other sushi place again.

Review - Sushi House of Hoboken is probably one of the best place to dine for Japanese cuisine, their rolls are always exceptionally fresh, and they always give extra big fish pieces and slightly less of rice - UNLIKE OTHER PLACES that do the reversal of that. Two locations, uptown and downtown, I live in uptown, Hudson Tea Building and it is just such a convenience to go there and spent money in. Food and decor are great, the fish tanks are beautiful. The owner gives his competitors a run for their money. Definitely will be around for awhile, and I certainly won't mind that. Excellent dining experience.

Review - It doesn't matter where you have eaten before. Forget it all. For you are about to encounter the best sushi you have ever eaten in your life! From its wide variety of special rolls to its fresh from the sea fish, and bring your own bottle policy, and reasonable pricing this place can do no wrong. The ambiance at night is awesome! With candles lit on the walls and tables you want to sink right into your dish. I have been eating here since the place opened some 2 years ago and can't say enough about the quality and consistency of the food. Lastly, the owner, Hendra routinely visits with his guests to ensure that their experience at the Sushi House is one they will never forget! Like they say, The best Sushi in Manhattan is in Hoboken.............

Review - I am a 43 year old extremely successful new york ciy landlord and I rarely share my opinions about restaurants, however once in a blue moon you find a true gem well folks among my favorites (peter lugars, sistina, some of steven hansen spots(they are not were they were when he had a smaller operation)I am honered to say the SUSHI HOUSE OF HOBOKEN is by far better than any of the new york city sushi haunts such as MAGU,HARU,RUBY FOOZ,HATSUHANA, which until now were my preferred choices.
My driver now picks up approx. 100 pieces of sushi and more importantly sashimi, weekly for our downtown office only because the fish is CONSISTANTLY FRESH (MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH) CONSISTANTLY OVERSIZED without a new york city price.
My sources say the ownership aquired the jefferson at 14th and washington to convert it to the sushi house uptown.Well if its true, its long overdue.
I wish the sushi house continued success and if there is a way to put my name and e-mail address on file,I would like to be made aware of the new grand opening.

Review - Definitely the best sushi in Hoboken! If you're placing an order for delivery, you will be put on hold a few times, but the sushi will be great when it arrives... I appreciate that they always let me know when the delivery time will be unusually long. They also have a lot of options for the non-sushi eating crowd. Check them out!

Review - I've had two bad service experiences at this place. First, we waited too long before our waitress too long, and she served the food to the table next to us - who came in after we came in!

When I pointed this out to her, she was rude. No apology or anything. I guess that's the type of people who run the place. Rude and uncaring in the customer service department.

However, Hendra is a great Sushi chef. I've gotten delivery at Sushi House since that incident and won't step foot into the restaurant again. Hendrea really should talk to his waitstaff about their rudeness.

Review - I definitely think Sushi House has the best sushi and Japanese food in Hoboken. Their food is always fresh and the service is usually great. Even their miso soup is better than your average sushi place. I especially like the chicken teryaki. I was in there once and the owner came over to talk and learned it was my birthday. A few minutes later they came out with ice cream and sang. It was completely unexpected but a nice addition to the meal.

Review - I have eaten at Sushi House several times, and each time it was great. I usually start with the cooked food then I hit the Sushi. BYOB is a plus, and I would never rate any restaurant on take out, or on their Sat night (too busy for any restaurant to deliver their best). The scene is a very hip, and young Hoboken crowd at night.

Review - Great sushi. Hendra (owner) built the menu . His sushi is the best in Hoboken. He always has freshest variety (try getting Fatty Tuna at any other sushi den). BYOB - so grab a bottle a sake or vodka. They are happy to accomodate.

Review - This is The Best I’ve ever eaten. The best regarding freshness, excellent presentation, very large sashimi pieces, excellent service. I work in Manhattan and eat at many Sushi bars/restaurants…so I am not a novice. The spices used in the salad dressing are just so unique. The owner wanders the establishment to meet and chat. They work very hard to create food art…you will ENJOY the Sushi House in Hoboken…Dave D.

Review - Sushi House has the best jap. food in Hoboken!! My favorite roll is the Tsunami roll/$12.95. It has ivory king salmon in it-yum! The decor is funky and unique. Hendra, the owner, introduced himself to my boyfriend and me our first time dining at the sushi house. He is very kind, he even gave us a free app! The service was ok, however we did not care for our server . She was rude and had too much of an attidude! She barely took care of us. Another server, who was very friendly, keept refilling our water, and checking up on us. Overall, sushi house is great!!

Review - We just ate at sushi house of hoboken. The sushi was out of this world. The Madame Butterfly roll was the best I've ever had. The owner Hendra came up to our table and treated us like family. The decor was funky and upbeat! The place packed and had great vibe. The service was good for a restaurant that just opened a week ago. The service can be improved and i am sure it will be better after the grand opening. We will be back because of the sushi and friendly atmosphere.
